The Gift - Part Two

Writing is a form of therapy and validation for me.  It gets what is rolling around in my head and heart out so I can process it.  It also helps validate that I am aware of the world around me.  One of my favorite side benefits from writing is feedback.  When someone responds, it lets me know my words triggered thoughts for them.  Yesterday, one of my long time, 20+ years, friends responded to my little ditty on the gift of goodbye and said, “I prefer hello.”  I responded, “The gift of goodbye typically leads to hello with someone else.”  Like goodbye, hello can also be a gift.  My personal view on closing doors is that when one door closes, it is actually making room in our life for something new.  What is another word for new, change?  A new house is change, a new car is change, a new relationship is change, and a new job is change.  At some point today, you will have the opportunity to give the gift of hello.  Happy gift giving.
