Active Scanning

I have the virus software on my computer set to active scanning.  In fact, the little icon on my tool bar shows it is running in the background right now.  With all the viruses, malware, and identity theft on the net, I’m not going to take a chance on being infected.

Just like computers, we should be actively scanning ourselves, as there are virus, malware, and identity theft threats in everyday life.  I’m not speaking about actual viruses but about people and events that can infect us on multiple levels.  You have the users, professional victims, drama kings/queens, posers, and so on.  All of them can affect us in a less than favorable way if we allow it to happen.  The best virus prevention tool we have is our intuition.  Our heart and head will tell us when something is about to infect us.  We all know the little voice or funny feeling that Mr. Intuition gives us; however, we do not always listen and boom, we are infected by the user virus or professional victim virus or one of the many other ones out there.  We even have built in update mechanisms called age and experience.  As we get older and experience more things, we get better at avoiding the viruses.  Make sure you are running active scanning.  Much like turning off the virus protection on your computer, not listening to your intuition and inner voice will do nothing but get you infected.
