I recall Ethan commenting, “Yep,
he is not too friendly and kind of sarcastic.”
I recall seeing him coming for the last few months and not saying a word
to most anyone. He would even sit in the
chair next to me and not say a word. Normally,
I say hi to everyone, but in this case, I felt like just watching and waiting. About two weeks ago, I made a comment to
someone about the Raptor, and the other man asked me about off roading. In fact, Ethan made a comment last week, “I
see you’ve made a new friend.”
Since then, we talk most every
morning. I’ve also noticed he started
talking to all the other people on Old Farts Row. That would be the row of chairs against the
glass where Patrick, Doug, Gordon, and I sit most every morning. Now, there are
not traces of someone being not too friendly or sarcastic. I guess he too was just waiting for the right
opening.
Like most everything in life,
openings are all about the timing, and when the timing is right, we know
it. We sometimes try to push or force
things on our time rather than the right time, and we all know what
happens. The things push back. Exercise a little patience; listen to your
head and heart, and the right openings will appear.
