Tristen had some minor surgery earlier in the week for the
ever so common tubes in the ears and to have his adenoids removed. We went back to recovery to be with him, and
the look on his face way like, “what just happened and where am I?” Supposedly, confusion and restlessness are
common responses when they are coming out from under the gas. Lauren hopped in the bed and tried to hold
him, but he wasn’t having it. He was
thrashing all around. He looked down at
me at the end of the bed and reached out.
I picked him up and just held him. He stopped thrashing and crying and just
relaxed. If Lauren tried to hold him,
the cycle started again. I could see the
stress and confusion on her face too, as she wanted to be the good mom and make
her baby’s bobo all better.
I explained to her what was going on. Tristen was feeling her nervous energy each
time she tried to comfort him, and in his confused state, that was just making
things worse for him. When I held him,
he felt the calm in me. I wasn’t trying
to fix him. I was just there for him. After an hour, things were all good, and our
happy, smiling all the time, little man was back.
Babies are so great at sensing, as they do not have all the
clutter and experiences that come along with life. They truly feel their surroundings. Yep, you guessed it. This little collection of words today is all
about sensing and projection or more affectionately referred to as spider
senses. For those times when you feel
confused or overwhelmed, give yourself a few moments to feel and sense. When you do, the right energy will become
apparent. “Chaos sometimes leads to
clarity.”
