Dodge Ball

What a fun game dodge ball was as a kid.  I still watch the silly movie with Ben Stiller when it comes on too.  There are times I feel like I am playing a game of dodge ball.  People, events, the past, and or my ego figuratively throw things at me, and if I am not on my game, whack, I get smacked with the ball.  Mr. Ego and Mr. Past teamed up to lob a healthy ball at me a couple of weeks ago and bam, they got me right in the ole schnozolla.  Sure, I could have been unsportsmanlike and lobbed one back at them, but that would only keep the nonsense going.  I acknowledged them for popping me and walked off the court for a few days to allow the red mark to go away, and it did, as I knew it would.

Life is like a game of dodge ball.  We sometimes get hit, sometimes catch the ball, and sometimes dodge or sidestep the situation.  If you feel you are getting hit more than catching or dodging, maybe it’s time to learn some new techniques.
