One thing I really enjoy about
being involved with the rodeo is watching the kids with their animals. They are proud of their animals and the work
that has gone into raising them. They
say yes mam and no sir. They say thank
you, shake your hand with a firm handshake, and they are not wearing damn baggy
pants and crooked hats. They also send
you hand written thank you cards to the people that purchase their animals in
the auctions. To sum it up in one
phrase, they are responsible. It’s
refreshing to see a segment of the next generation that gets it. They are developing a strong foundation and
work ethic. You don’t see these kids
demanding a car, new phone, or video games or laying up in their rooms avoiding
work. They are involved in their life.
A day does not pass that you do
not see someone or some company attempting to redirect, shift the blame, or
totally deny something. Heck, look at
Washington. That silly place is the
Mecca of Pass The Buck and the Redirect Blame Game. No one wants to or accepts responsibility for
anything unless they think there is something to be gained.
There is a lot to be learned from
the kids at the rodeo. I encourage you
to head out to the livestock show and talk to some of them. Try out a new experience. Meet a kid that understands and accepts the
R-Word.
