I
went through all the pictures on my jump drive last night to figure out which
ones I could archive, as I need the space on the drive. There was a point in time where I felt I
needed them all with me, just in case.
Just in case what, you ask? I
cannot tell you. I just felt the need to have them with me. As I went through them, I enjoyed the memory
triggers of the respective people and events in the pictures. They also
reminded me of why I take some many pictures.
They are snapshots of my life.
Sure, I have the memories in my head, but looking at the pictures
reminds me of the wonderful people and events that make up my life.
On the last cruise, a friend
of mine commented about all the pictures we were taking between the 23 of us, “why
do y’all take so many pictures?” I
smiled and said, “For the memories.” The
moment can never be recreated, but it can be remembered through pictures so
take another one why don’t ya.
I once misplaced some old flash drives and it almost made me crazy. It was like finding a lost child when I finally found where I put them for safe keeping.
