One of my favorite things to
do at the Ren Fest is people watching. When
I think I have seen it all, another year rolls around with new costumes, new
people, and new adventures. It is like
there is an inhibition filter at the front gate that just takes it all away. You
can roll around in a pile of leaves, bark at a tree, sit at the Sea Devil and
have a beer, or just sit on the hill and take it all in. Whether you are in character, dress the part,
or just hang out, it is a good time.
That is the real draw and why I go back.
With all the social pressure
to act, dress or perform a certain way, it is a nice change to be in a setting
where none of that matters to anyone.
If you spend more time
working to fit a certain mold, maybe your inhibition filter is broken. Remove the dang thing and be whatever you
like.
