Circular Logic

Also known as circular reasoning or false logic, circular logic happens when the conclusion matches the original premise of a thought. Meaning, the conclusion is nothing more than unsupported thought.  Children are notorious for circular logic, “I want that video game…why…because I need it…why do you need it…because I want it…”  Who am I kidding, I know adults that do the same thing.  In my opinion, circular logic is nothing more than our attempt to craft the words to get the outcome we want.

Many times I’ve had to walk away from conversations or change the subject, as the circular logic of the other people was just polluting my space and ears with useless words and noise.  Even funnier is watching those with their circular logic get pissed off when their premise is not supported or validated.  As William Shakespeare put it, “I appear to be in a battle of wits with an opponent that is unarmed.”

Circular logic or as I like to call it, “A lot of words about nothing.”
