I am not sure where the
phrase “Live & Learn” originated, but I think of it often and it different
terms. Do we live and learn or do we learn
and live? It is not a deep question but
one that does provoke a little pondering for me. Overall, I think it is both. As we live life, we learn things along the
way. For me, the learning process never
stops. I have noticed though that with
age and life experiences, I have shifted my thinking more toward the learn and
live approach. Meaning, I like to
believe I get smarter about how I approach and live my life on all levels.
Looking back just a short 10
years, I can see all types of instances where I changed how I live based on
things I have learned. I stopped chasing
the money and believing it was a sign of success. I have learned a job supports
my lifestyle but does not run my life or make me who I am. I have redirected my focus and energy on the
things that really matter in life. I have learned the true power of living a
gratitude lifestyle, the importance of faith, and being thankful for the
successes and the less than thrilling events, as they both added to my life in
some way. I am enjoying my learning and
living phase.
