Choose Wisley

In my techy world, TTY is the acronym for a teletype.  In my daily world, it means something completely different: TTY – Today, Tomorrow, or Yesterday.  I see TTY as a multiple choice pop quiz each morning when I get out of bed.  I can choose Today and focus on living in the moment, choose Tomorrow and focus on manifesting/visualizing my future, or choose Yesterday and focus on my past. I aspire to choose Today each morning and work into Tomorrow, but there are times I get sucked into Yesterday.

In fact, it happened to me Thursday, when I got a stinging reminder about something from my past.  The words from the other person did send me down a road of pissy-ness.  I let it run for a bit then had the little self-talk, “Rodney, you know exactly what’s going on and know there is zero upside to focusing on the words from the past.” For me, I have to acknowledge the event happened then remind myself that nothing good comes out of living in the past. Continuing to wallow in the words just keeps me stuck in the slop.

At the very instant you are reading the words in this sentence, you have a choice to make to set the tone for your day.  Will it be T-Today, T-Tomorrow, or Y-Yesterday?  Choose wisely young Jedi.
