Some of my best lessons in
life have been from being knocked on my ass and looking up. One of my better
lessons is knowing that no matter how much I’ve learned, I can still end up on
my ass at any given second. It has nothing to do with being paranoid and
everything to do with knowing there can be a significant shift in my life at
any given moment, and no amount of therapy, counseling, or other tools can
change said event. What can change though is my response to the event. Being knocked
down for whatever reason is always painful.
The conditioned response is to stay there rather than attempting to get
up only to be beat down again. Here’s what I’ve learned the hard way. The only one that can keep me down is me. If
you’re reading this note, you know my choice.
As the old 80’s song says: “I get knocked down but I get up again…” Look up my friends. The view is unbelievable.
