RDA

There are Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) labels on the packaging of most all food items that show the percentages of the ingredients in the food relative to a typical 2,000 calorie a day diet.  As you would expect, I have another view on RDA. I have an internal RDA for smiles, hugs, laughs, positivity, and overall good energy; however, I strive to exceed the RDA for those items each day.

In my mind, the hugs, laughs, positivity, and good energy lead to a healthier “me.” I can’t frown if I am smiling. I find difficult to be depressed if I am laughing.  It’s damn near impossible to be mad when I am getting a hug.  You see the pattern. Yes, I have less than stellar days, but I know that one hug, a funny joke with Richard, seeing Tristen smile, or Johnny calling me, can make everything better. Remember, being totally healthy means watching our intake on all four levels: emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical.  If you’re feeling down or a little emotionally anemic, check your RDA of hugs, smiles, and laughs.  You may need to “whatasize.”  Give me a call, and I’ll make ya laugh, and I have been known to do drive-by hugs.
