Ctrl+Alt+Del

No, the title is not some obscure math equation.  It is the key sequence used to reboot a PC.  There two most common reasons to reboot your machine, running out of memory and CPUs resources and hung up programs that give the “not responding” message.  Each time we open a program, they take up an amount of available resources, and even though we close the programs, the original resources are not released back for use by other programs.  Slowly over time, the programs eat away at the available resources to the point the computer runs out.  That’s when a reboot is required.

Being a techy nerd, I see similarities between computers and daily living.  Over time, people and events eat away at our available resources. One of the bigger drains I see and experience is conflict/drama.  I understand there will always be levels of conflict/drama in all types of relationships: business, family, friendships, or romantic.  I make every attempt to avoid the conflict but sometimes there is no reasonable way out.  I physically feel it when I am running low on resources.  I withdraw, get very quiet, sometimes turn off all the technology, and even run away even though I logically know I will have to deal with the situation at some point.   I know my low resource triggers and know what I have to do when they arise.

Yes, this all leads up to one of my favorite words, Change!  With the new year approaching, it is the perfect time to “Ctrl+Alt+Del” myself to get all my resources reset.  I can already sense and see a lot of change coming in my life for 2014 on all fronts, and I want to be ready to accept them with all of my available resources.  Anyone else care to Ctrl+Alt+Del?
