Level Set

I had to do one of my least favorite things in the world today.  I wrote that big check to “Uncle Fingers” for my 2013 tax bill.  I was bitching to high heaven earlier in the week about the tax bill, which was on top of the taxes I had paid quarterly.  As I thought about my whining, I caught myself and thought about three things.  The tax bill was high because I had a good billable year, at least I have the funds to pay the taxes, and I’m fortunate to be able to do something I have fun doing as a job. As much as I’ve learned in my 54 years, I still need reminders that I need to look at the blessings in my life and level set regularly.

The next time you find yourself in the spin zone, pause for a few minutes and think about the goodness in your life and level set.  A little change in perspective makes everything so much better.
