Opportunist

So, here is one to think about today. Per the actual definition, an opportunist is a person who adapts his actions and responses to take advantage of opportunities & circumstances. I typically see the term used when it comes to some type of fraud. However, as I looked at the definition, I began to wonder if there is another way to view an opportunist?

I see a chance to help someone and change their life. Yes, I am taking advantage of an opportunity and circumstance to help someone in a tough spot. Does that make me an opportunist? I saw a video of a store employee jumping to save a baby falling out of the shopping cart. He did not think about possibly falling himself or if someone would get mad. Does that make him an opportunist?

In my mind, adapting actions and responses to take advantage of an opportunity or circumstance that can change a life or the world is the right thing to do. If that makes me an opportunist, then I wear the title proudly and will be an opportunist till the day I leave this place.
