The two words, lost baggage, can stir up all sorts of angst at an airport, and there are other times when the two words can represent goodness. That is when you lose some of your emotional and mental baggage. It is such a refreshing feeling to take a deep cleansing breath and know you have put the baggage in its place. Face it, we all have baggage of some type.
With the first day of spring, March 20th, right around the corner, it is the perfect time to start the spring cleaning of baggage. Rather than lugging around that steamer trunk of junk, try downsizing to something more manageable like a backpack. Meaning, there will always be things to deal with, but once you learn to identify them and know what they feel like when they are coming on, you can work to put things in their proper place.
I recall many times in my past saying, “I can’t get my hands around everything.” At the time, I really couldn’t. It is only when I realized and accepted that I indeed could not get my hands around everything at once, but I could get them around a few things at a time. That is when it all started making sense. Work to solve and acknowledge a few things at a time rather than everything at once.
For spring 2021, take an inventory of your baggage. I’m certain you will see there is a fair amount that needs to be lost.
