There are days my monkey mind is off the charts with thoughts jumping all over the place. As much as I try, I have no control over those annoying thoughts that end up bouncing around in my head. However, I do have control over what stays there. For me, that means an internal dialog that goes something like this, what good will come out of giving energy and brain cycles to these thoughts? It has already happened, you cannot change the outcome no matter how good you think you are at problem solving, and the roller coaster ride in your head will continue until you choose to get off the ride.
The next time you feel yourself climbing on the crazy train, take a quick pause and work to rationalize where the thoughts will take you. Whether it’s meditation, quiet time, Harley therapy, or whatever helps you calm your mind, tell those useless thoughts to get out. A quiet mind is a happy mind!
