The Zone

It is common to hear athletes talk about being in the zone.  From my experience, the zone is the place where laser focus is required relative to the event or task.  I recall a comment about one of my skydiving pictures: “You look so intense and are not smiling.”  My comment was, “Well, I was falling at 120+ miles an hour and was focused on my altimeter, as it was about time to pull my chute.”

There is a place and time where we need the laser focus and intensity, and there are times we need to step away from whatever and lighten up.  For me, being in the zone too long wears me out.  All the focus and intensity does take a lot of energy.  How often do we say or hear someone say, “I need to take a break from everything.”  If you think you need a break, you do.  If you feel the need to be in a zone, hop on over to the, “Lighten Up Zone.”
