Positioning

“True friendship doesn't come with strings attached but an open heart full of compassion and unconditional giving and receiving.  Real friends allow each other to be themselves without conditions or expectations and see each other through the roughest roads without judgment.”

Today’s quote is out of the comments section of an online article about friendships and associated roles in those friendships.  In a perfect setting, the best friendships are the ones where we can shift in and out of roles we need or the other person needs at the time; however, friendships, like any relationship, take work.  If you have the same role most of time with certain people, maybe it is time to reevaluate those relationships and see if they need to move to the acquaintance circle instead of friendship circle.  To take it a step further, ask those close to you, what can I do to be a better friend.  Who better to give feedback than your friends?
