250 Characters

I ran across a web site asking one question: What are you grateful for?  The site gives you 250 characters, not words, to describe something you are grateful for in your life.  One comment says, “I’m grateful.”  There are other comments of gratitude for families, pets, jobs, each day, faith, and healing from illness.  I read 50 or so of the comments, and while reading them all, it reminded me there is always something to be grateful each day.  It can be as simple as thank you for another day to very specific gratitude statements about your life.

I have a gratitude journal where I write the things, I am thankful for along with gratitude intentions for upcoming day.  Some days the entries are a few words and other days have five pages of entries.  Here is your homework for today.

Write down what you are grateful for in your life.  When you write heartfelt feelings, your eyes see them, and your brain acknowledge the feelings.  It comes back to having the heart and head connected.  Now as you are thinking on what to write, do not focus so much on the character count as the intent behind the characters.  That’s where the gratitude lives.
