More Than You Think
“Appreciation can make a day, even change a life. Your willingness to put it into words is all that is necessary.” - Margaret Cousins
I knew when I walked into Lakewood on Sunday and saw the flyer for the CDs and DVDs they were promoting that there were people in the group needing them. Why, because there are more of us than you think needing some good words, positivity, and enlightenment. The response has been better than I thought, but has indeed validated that people are searching. That’s why I wrote the TOD yesterday on being left wanting.
There are more than you think out there looking. Just think about “you” and how you ended up being a part of the group. What brought you to the TOD group? It was not by accident or a web search. It was either by talking to me or by word of mouth from someone else on their journey. Again, there are more than you think just out there looking. As a personal note, one of the best compliments I’ve received is from my Dad: “Rod, I learn from the things you write…you get me to thinkin…” We all help each other more than you think. The words I write help more than you think. The words and experiences you share help more than you think. I typically get at least one email a day about how the TOD spoke to someone. Some would say it is the law of averages and that someone in the group will be experiencing “something” that you write about. I choose to believe I write what someone needs at the time.
When you have those times when you wonder if you make a difference, think about this little fact. As of this TOD writing, I’ve written 323 pages, and each of you have been a co-author in some way or fashion in those pages. All 90 of you “matter more than you think.” Without you, the TOD would just be three letters.
Action Item – Know how important you are to the world, to me, and to the group. You are changing lives without even knowing it. Keep it going.
POSITIVE NEWS
Success
We had another successful rodeo meeting last night. Just a reminder, there are some great season boxes and suites available right now. We also sell charity tickets, which help send kinds, that otherwise would be unable to attend, to the rodeo. For as little at $16, you can send a child to the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.
Nice
It looks like it will be a nice weather weekend coming up. There’s a lil chance of rain but cooler temps. That’s what I’m talkin bout.
