Searching For Network
"To appreciate the balance in life, you have to lose it every now and then." - Rodney Williams
At some point, we have all seen “searching for network” on our cell phones. The phone has lost contact with the network and is trying to find it. There are a lot of times I feel like I’m searching for network. I just get disconnected sometimes. And yes I do feel it when that happens. I find myself looking around and going “hey, what happened to my people, my energy, my connection?” That’s essentially what I felt when I took a break from the TOD. I knew I needed to enact my business resumption plan (BRP). For the non-propeller heads, the BRP is your plan for resumption in the event of some major event or outage at your company. The key to a successful BRP is keeping it current and clearly documenting all the steps and processes to keep the company functioning. There were tons of BRPs getting enacted when Ike hit Houston.
I started developing my personal BRP in October of 2006 and continue to update it as I learn new things. Here are the steps I took.
1. Acknowledged and allowed myself to feel the emotions of the situation.
2. Journaled to allow my brain to process.
3. Ensured my prayers were focused to allow my spirit some calm.
4. Got quiet and listened to what the Holy Spirit was communicating to me.
5. Asked for insight.
6. Called Jamie and had a data dump and review session with her.
7. Added more BodyTalk therapy sessions to ensure my energy was balanced.
8. Worked out a lot.
9. Allowed my friends to care for me.
10. Returned to “my balance.”
This is the BRP that works for me for now. My BRP is dynamic and always changing as I change and learn. Every event in my life teaches me something, and I pull the applicable new things into the plan. As stated before, I changed from the “why would I” to the “why would I not” way of thinking. Opening your heart and head to new things changes your world.
