I’d Really Like To!
Last night I had the pleasure of meeting someone new that has been reading my thoughts by way of email forwards from one in our group. In true Rod form, we talked for at least 2.5 hours. A comment was made about the reach of what I write: “you will never know how many people you touch with your writings.” That phrase caught my interest, but I let it go for a bit. I came back to the subject a little later.
The reality is I indeed will never know how many people read what I write as I have no clue who forwards the message or where it goes beyond the first forward, but I’d really like to. I would like to know how the words spoke to them. I do get a lot of feedback via emails and phone call, but you just can’t beat face-to-face communication. Remember the statistics on communication. Communication is 7% words, 38% tone, and 55% body language. I just learn so much more when I’m in front of someone. If you are visiting Houston, give me a ring. If’ I’m traveling and might be in your city, I’ll give you a ring. Even though reality dictates I will never meet everyone that reads my writings, I’d really like to.
