So I Was Asked a Few Questions

When I was at the cook-off, I was asked the following question. Do you ever have a bad or off day? I responded yes I certainly do and there are many times my train runs of the tracks just like everyone else. That prompted a second question. Why don’t you write about those days like you do all the good ones? Well here is a snapshot into an off day in my life.

I am dang sore right now. My knees remind me about all the surgeries I have had, and they are swelled from being on my feet so much. My lower back is also sore and tight from standing and from loading up the trailer. My right arm is sore from the torn bicep I’ve had for years. When I lift a lot, it gives me a little reminder. I received some information this morning that has me a little sad today. I’m thinking about a stressful conversation with a sponsor’s guest.

I am also thinking about some of the new people I met, the tons of smiles I shared with all of my friends and those close to me. I am also recalling the fun I had dancing a lot with Teri, Sharon, Lauren, Robin, and others. I am thinking about the in depth conversation I had with Clay. I am thinking too about the strangers I met and some that are not strangers anymore. I recall the great steak the guys cooked for sponsor night.

There are indeed lots of times in my life where things hurt physically and emotionally, but there are as many times in a day where goodness, love, and positivity happen. I have just chosen to work and focus on the good things I’m blessed with each day. So yes today is an off day for me, and I’m fine with it as I know I can and will find some goodness and positivity in it all as I choose too. You can too.

So I pose the following questions. Do you want to know when I have an off day? Does it help you knowing I experience the same identical things everyone else does?
