Who Decides? You Do!

VIP

We see the acronym everywhere: Very Important Person – VIP. You see it at concerts. You see it at sporting events. You see it at parking venues. Some people pay for the privilege to be called VIP. When you get down to it though, isn’t everyone a VIP? Just because you paid extra to get better seating at an event, does that make you any more important than me if I am sitting at the top of the stadium? Absolutely not!

In my world, every person on the planet is a VIP as each of us has value and brings something to this world. Money does not make you more important than me. Your job does not make you more important than me. We are all the same. We have a heart, we have a spirit, and we have value. I like to think there are no strangers in my life but just people I have not met yet. That’s the very reason I say hi to everyone and smile. They are crossing my path for a reason, and I want to acknowledge their value. Even when they don’t see it, I do. I want to give them something to think about. I want them walking away going, why did he smile and say hi to me?

Someone very close to me questions their value more than they should. Sometimes more than words are needed. That’s when I just hug them so they can “feel” how valuable they are to me by feeling my heart. I let them know they are indeed a VIP in my world.

So here is your challenge for today. Hug someone today and tell them how much of a VIP they are to you. They will hear your words and feel it in your heart. At that point, you have just made a difference in the world. Do it today and watch the changes around you. VIPs are everywhere.
