As I sit here thinking about Nora and her family, the thought of unfinished business came up. You know what I mean. Holding on to something from the past, holding a grudge, etc. I’ve seen too many instances of people holding on to things that make no difference in the present. How many times has someone left your life and you are left thinking, if I had only told them I loved them, if I had only made that phone call rather than hold on to the bitterness. Death is permanent. There are no do-overs.
In Nora’s time of sorrow, I propose we use this opportunity to reflect on our own lives. Do you have unfinished business with anyone: family, friends, former boyfriend or girlfriend? If you are holding on to something, ask yourself why and if it is really that important? Time is the one thing that cannot be replaced. Make the phone call, say I’m sorry or just forgive them in your heart. Do not waste time on unfinished business.
