I’m having a lot of fun with the new Raptor truck. It does indeed draw a lot of attention. The most common question I get is “what is it?” I tell most it is a 2010 Ford Raptor, but I have been silly and told a few I built it in my garage after watching a show on the DIY channel.
It is indeed a lot of fun to drive and has all sorts of options on it. It has a color navigation system, voice command technology, rear view color cameras, a moon roof, 10 gig hard-drive for music downloads along with many other fun options. It has another option that you will not see on the sticker nor do I think the designers even considered it. My favorite option on the Raptor is the Smile Installer.
Most everywhere I go the Raptor solicits some interaction and dialog, and I do indeed leverage the opportunity. I’ve had strangers walk up at Kroger’s asking about the truck. Last night in the parking lot of Goode Seafood, two young boys started grinning as I pulled up and got out of the truck. One of the boys was a big car enthusiast and knew exactly what I was driving. His Mom bragged a little about his passion for cars and about a Bentley he saw earlier. We talked for a bit as we all walked in the restaurant. Even from our table, I could still see the boy talking about the truck with his Mom, brother and friends. In both cases, the people were smiling.
I’ve had people come up at the gas station, had one man walk out of a Quizno’s to see it, and often see people just point. No matter where I’m at, I get to see the Raptor smile installer in action at least once a day. I consider the smile installer the best part of the Raptor as it gives me the opportunity to bring a smile to someone’s face. Smiles make you feel good. That’s a fact and science proves it. Why do you think you see me in all my pictures with big teethy smiles? I like the feeling.
We are all equipped with smile installers. You don’t need to buy a new truck to have that option. You can use the one that’s built in. When you smile, someone will smile back. Go out and use that priceless option the good Lord gave you. Install a smile on someone today, and tomorrow, and the next day, and so on, and so on.
