Pure Energy
As I was visiting Lauren and Tristen last night, the subject of energy came up. We talked about the energy fields our bodies radiate, and how they can be seen and felt. She brought up the aura picture I had taken a while back and the amount of different energy fields around me. Most people have about two, and silly me has about seven different ones. That conversation turned on the inspiration light for me.
I’m gonna date myself a little here. In 1988, the band Information Society released a song called What’s On Your Mind (Pure Energy). Most just call it Pure Energy. Those two words were actually sampled from an old Star Trek episode where Leonard Nimoy said them. The song still gets air play some 22 years later, and yes I have it on my iPod. The song came to mind again, but it was not a flashback to the 80’s. I was thinking about Tristen, my godson, and his Pure Energy.
As I was holding Tristen last night, I looked down at him and made a comment: “I wonder what babies dream about?” Lauren and I snickered, but my comment stuck with me. A baby’s energy is indeed pure energy in the sense they do not have any life experiences, influences, preconceived notions, prejudices, or biases. All they are doing is working from their God given instinct to survive and live. They can’t talk yet they communicate with us through energy projection, body language, sound, and expression. We feel them as they project pure energy.
I smiled when Lauren asked if I wanted to hold him. I saw her smile while she watched me hold him. I saw Taylor crack a large smile when he came in the room. I could see he was itching to hold his son, but I was not done getting my pure energy from Tristen. When Teri got there, I saw the smile on her face as she felt his energy. After she had dinner, it’s like she went in to countdown mode to hold him. She washed her hands, looked at Taylor and just said “gimmie.” You could see the total joy and calm radiating from her as she was holding Tristen. Sally sums it up nicely: “Babies change lives. That’s just what they do.”
They just project pure energy and goodness by just “being”. When you’re holding them, everything else in your mind seems to just leave as you focus on them and feel the goodness radiating. They have so much to teach about life yet they verbally say nothing. The lesson I’ve learned from Tristen in his less than 48 hours on this earth is to strive to clear my mind so I too can radiate Pure Energy.
A two day old teaching an almost 51 year old something new. Thanks Tristen for helping me with one of my three daily action items of learning a new thing each day. So what are you going to teach me tonight, hmmmm?
