The Numbers

One For Everything

Name any subject and it seems like there are statistics on it.  I watched a show last night called Sextistics: Your Love Life.  It is about the statistics behind the romantic attraction process, and they do indeed have statistics on everything from 93% of women not liking back hair to guys being able to scan a room at a bar and check out 77 women in the first second.  Did you know the average woman kisses 79 men before finding the one, or the average person falls in love seven times in life?  The show is quite informative as it goes through the entire process from the first encounter, infatuation, courtship, commitment, marriage, divorce (if applicable), etc.  There are statistics for most every single event occurring during each phase.  The one compelling take-away from the show is that relationships take work.  Like anything else meaningful in life, we must put effort into it if we want something positive out of it.  We have to do the work.

I would encourage you to take a look at the show.  Here’s the link to the schedule.  http://health.discovery.com/tv-schedules/special.html?paid=56.16818.56195.0.0
