In A Mayonnaise Jar on Funk and Wagnalls Front Porch

Defined

“I’m getting old…I’m set in my ways…Damn, he is getting crotchety in his old age…”  I’ve either heard it, said it, or had it said about me.  I found it offensive at one time, but now I laugh and smile when I hear one of those phrases.  Age is just a number in my opinion.  Yes, I wake up feeling sore some mornings.  Either my back or my left knee gets a little stiff during the night.  Rather than concentrate on feeling sore, I focus on the fact that I woke up.  As I experience more in life, I find more clarity and definition of what I will and will not do.  I look at the clarity and definition as age/experience boundaries.

Go ahead, call me old, set in my ways, or crotchety.  I just call myself defined.  So, what’s your definition of you?
