Some Ya Can and Some Ya Can’t
I write often about change. It is one of the constants in life. Something is changing in our life every day. Change can typically be broken down into two categories: Biological and Transformational. Biological changes are those that just happen, and you have little to no input on them. That would be getting older, losing your hair, seasonal change, etc. They are going to happen whether you like it or not. Transformational changes are those where there are wholesale shifts in us. It is not a matter of doing the same thing as before but a little better. It is upsetting the apple cart all together and moving in a completely different direction. Change is our reaction to the opportunity rather than the opportunity itself. Events in life offer opportunity for transformational change, but some have difficulty seeing or grasping the opportunity. It’s that, “What am I going to do with this?” thinking.
When you experience one of those “life just dropped me on my head moments,” think about what you are going to do with the event. You CAN’T change that it happened, but you CAN change how you react to it. Use the event to make one of those transformational changes. Remember, when you change your thinking, you can change your world.
