Riff

Music is a big memory trigger for me, especially guitar riffs.  Heck, some of them go back probably 40 years or so.  Kiss, America, Led Zeppelin, Boston, Queen, Black Sabbath, and Peter Frampton.  Just writing the names is triggering memories from seeing some of them in the Coliseum in Houston.  One of the most famous riffs in history is Aerosmith’s lead in to Walk This Way.  I heard the song today, and boy, did it kick up some funny memories.  One of the funniest of all was a memories is compliments of my niece, Tiana from when she was 16.  “Uncle Rodney, have you heard that new song called Walk This Way by Run DMC and some band called Aerosmith?”  LaGrange by ZZ Top also conjures up all sorts fun memories fun memories.  I enjoy the memories the riffs kick up.

I think the think that amazes me the most is how the music triggers your brain can do a recall that dang fast.  I like my riffs and am so dang happy I can still “remember” them.  So, what’s your favorite riff and associated memory?
