Thinking Makes Your Head Hurt

You Decide

“Sometimes we struggle because we're isolated and out of gas.  Sometime it's because we have a brokenness inside.  And sometimes we are just being dumb.  Make sure you know the difference, it will help” – Dr. John Townsend

John is probably my favorite author.  He was so instrumental in helping me get out of the ditch when my life went south.  His words today just really jumped out at me.  There are so many times in life that we are indeed tired and just out of gas and energy.  Other times are because of inner conflicts that kick our booty.  Then there are the other times we are just total dumbasses and do dumb things.  He is 100% correct though in the last sentence about making sure we know the difference.

All too often, we end up in the ditch by not knowing or maybe not seeing the difference at the time something this happening in our life.  Yes, there are times were are spent and so tired.  Yes, there are times where our inner hurts and or demons or whatever  the term just beat us down.  And yes, sometimes we are “no excuse having dumbasses.”

The difference between any of the above situations is knowing how to recognize and see them for what they are and dealing/working with them accordingly.  If you are tired, emotionally, physically, spiritually or mentally, allow yourself to rest.  If you are broken internally, ask for help.  I did, and it was the best decision of my life.  If you are a dumbass and continue to do dumbass things, well just go ahead and line up in front of my boot as you have no excuse.  You decide.  You do have options, ya know!
