Things Happen

Be Ready

Rod,

“You are not going to believe this but I was going over to our Church to put something away and a lady got out of her car, a parishioner, who was crying hysterically because she had just lost her job.  I gave her your example of the Shovel or Backhoe, and she could not have been more at ease when I left her.  I did not solve her problem, but at least I got a chance to console her in some fashion.”

I received the email above a couple of hours ago from a friend’s mom that read my book and reading my blog.  I wrote Shovel or Backhoe two days ago.  It was one of those I wrote with no specific event or person in mind.  It’s just what came to mind on a Tuesday.  There are times I know exactly who or what inspires me to write and other times I just write what comes to my heart and head.

Were the words I wrote destined to be used today for someone in need, who knows?  Did they help someone in some way, you betcha.   The words I wrote were available to someone when they ran across a person in need.  The example above just further proves my point that you never know when something you say or do can impact another.  That’s how it is supposed to work boys and girls.  By helping each other, we make our little slice of the world a little better. Be ready to make a difference and you will.
