Which Direction

There are times where it feels that no matter how hard we try, we just keep getting kicked in the ass.  We make a little headway in one direction then get blindsided by something else.  The thing I’ve learned about being “down” is that it feeds on itself and will grow like a virus if you let it continue.  It’s easy to get caught up in the sucky side of things.  It takes work to look at the event and say, “Ok, I’ll give you that one or the last two, but you will not win…I might be down but not for long.”  Another thing I’ve learned is that being “up” also feeds on itself and will grow like a virus if you let it continue.

We all have periods in life where we are down and those where we are up.  It’s not one or other all the time.  We move in and out of both periods as they both have a place in our life.  From my experiences, the down places just remind me of where I don’t want to be and provide me with incentive to move in the direction the up places.
