Overtime

Have you noticed the amount of people in the world that will put in all sorts of overtime, both paid and unpaid, into a job but very seldom put any overtime in on themselves?  Sure, I understand financial situations or project timelines sometimes dictate working overtime, but that should be the exception rather than the norm. Working all the time and leaving no time for “you” leads to fatigue, resentment, and illness.  You have to take care of and invest in yourself.  You, me, we, are priceless.  There is not another one of any of us.

When I finally learned I was nothing more than a piece in the “machine,” everything changed.  I was not bitter or angry but saw things for what they are.  The machine will run with or without me, and all I have to or should do is be the best piece I can be for the time I am part of the machine.  If you are going to put in overtime, put it in a worthwhile investment, YOU!
