Navigating the Nonsense

Is it just me, or do some companies and people simply go out of their way to make things complicated?  Really though, there are those out there that make it harder than it has to be.  It seems to be everyone now.  You call the “Customer Prevention” department of any company and end up in automated attendant hell.  You go to buy a new vehicle and the salesman has to go to the sales manager who has to go to the general manager who has to go to the Grand Pooba to kiss the ring to get a deal done.  Geeze, getting things done nowadays can be like dribbling a basketball through a minefield.

I think I’m more sensitive to navigating the nonsense than most, as I’ve worked to simply my life over the last six years.  I just really don’t care or choose to devote time to the nonsense.  Every minute spent dealing with the silliness is a minute I could be doing something else I enjoy in life.

Remember, the shortest distance between two points is a straight line.  Rather than going around the block to get next door, work on simplifying the trip.  Work on limiting your time navigating the nonsense and enjoy the adventure called life.
