Not All The Time

“It’s not all the time you come across people willing to dedicate their time and energy into people they don’t know.”  – Melanie & Isaiah Lincoln

I had the honor of performing a wedding ceremony tonight for Melanie & Isaiah.  Yet another thing a lot of people do not know about me.

My friend Kathy Moreland sent me a note saying she had a co-worker that wanted to get married, but she and her husband to be did not have a church or a minister here and wanted more than a JP ceremony.  She told Melanie that she knew someone that could probably help her out.  That someone was me.  Melanie and I chatted a few times on the phone about what she and Isaiah were looking for in a ceremony.

The quote above came out of the card they gave me after the ceremony.  The irony is that I met Melanie & Isaiah and their family for the first time, face-to-face this past Saturday, but I felt like I already knew them.  Melanie and I had emailed and chatted but did not meet until we were all together.  When I met them and the family, I knew everything was all good.  There that good energy thing is again.

So to bring this thing back around, Kathy and I are dear friends, Kathy is friends with Melanie, and now we all are connected all through one little email.  Dedicate a little time and energy into you people you don’t know.  You never know where it will end up.  Funny how these connections work isn’t it?

I would be remiss if I did not say thank you for your service to Sergeant Isaiah Lincoln with the United States Army out of Fort Brag.
