There is Always Some Upside

I had an unwelcomed visitor show up last week.  No, it was not some psycho ex or anything like that.  Actually, this one’s name is Pneumonia.  Wow, what a butt kickin it has turned out to be for me, but I can still find some upside with pneumonia.  Sure, I had to pay for the Dr. and many meds, but I’m not paying for gas or dry cleaning as I’m stuck at home.  I’ve lost some weight, as I have no appetite.  My washer and dryer is getting a little break as I am wearing my lounging shorts rather than work clothes.  I’ve emptied my DVR of all the shows I had recorded.  I’m sure there are others on the list that I’m forgetting.

I have to poke a little humor at this little adventure in my life.  Yes, pneumonia is painful and a less than fun road to go down, but it’s the road I’m on right now.  I just made a choice to find some upside in it rather than be consumed by it.  Whatever situation you might be facing, attempt to look for the upside.  How you choose to view the situation will help determine how you experience the situation.
