A Little Nudge

A push from the thrusters and a 100,000-ton cruise ship can be up against the dock and tied off without feeling a thing.  There are times when all the brute power in the world is useless.  Sometimes a little nudge in the right direction does the trick.  We are the same way.  Occasionally, we all need a little nudge or help to get through things.

There are plenty of times where I have the answer to questions; however, if I am always providing the answers, how does that help another person grow and improve? All it teaches them is to call you when they have questions rather than attempting to find the answer on their own.  I view that process as breeding laziness and complacency rather than promoting creativity and knowledge transfer.  I would rather give a little nudge by asking a probing question or maybe a link to a web site to find the answer.  Having knowledge is a great thing, but sharing knowledge is even better.  Go out and drop some knowledge on someone by giving them a little nudge.
