I remember One Life to Live
being one of my mom’s “stories.” The
show was on 44 plus years and just ended its run in January 2012. It was about the lives, times, relationships,
and drama of the Lord Family. Short of
some overacting, it probably was not that far from the truth for some families.
To me, One Life to Live means exactly what the words say. I have One Life to Live, and it is up to me to
live it to its fullest. No one has the
right to tell me how to live it or live it for me. Sure, I solicit advice from my dad and
friends, but what I do with said advice is still up to me.
We have all heard the
nonsense of he/she will change for me. I
know he/she loves me but just does not know how to show it. Well they may for a very short time, but that
little not so healthy friend, resentment, will show up sooner than later. Then resentment invites over depression, and
sadness, and disconnect. I’m all for
change and improvement in life, as long as we make the changes and improvements
for us rather than making them to attempt to live a life someone else has
defined for us.
Everyone is unique and has
One Life to Live. Live it the way that
works best for you and brings you happiness and joy.
