El Mundo

My friend and one of the greatest artists in the world, Rebecca Bass, had a get together tonight for her new “space.”  The space is where Rebecca creates and expresses.  Everyone in attendance drew a card.  My card happened to be El Mundo.  The card is a picture of a man, down on one knee and literally holding the world on his shoulders.  In Spanish, El Mundo translates to The World.

For most people, there would be some deep discussion about the meaning to the card.  For me, I just laughed and gave a little, “thanks for the reminder to the good Lord and the universe.”  The card reminded me of the importance of how things can pile up on us if we allow it to happen.  Drama, stress, and other people’s issues can swamp us if we attempt to own the issues.  It is not our responsibility to hold the world on our shoulders, yet we do at times.  Rather than holding the world on your shoulders, strive to identify what does and does not matter, shed the loads, and learn to love life.
