Always & Never

For me, always and never fall into the category called sweeping generalizations. The online dictionary, defines always accordingly: every time, on every occasion, without exception.  The same dictionary defines never as, not ever; at no time.  Yes, I do use both words, and in both cases, I cringe when I do.  To say things are always the same or certain things will never happen are both invalid arguments.

Yes, things can be similar, but they are not 100% the same.  Traffic is always the same.  I will never fall in love again.  Traffic can never be the same as the cars on the road and traffic conditions change daily.  I will never fall in love again dictates that you will never meet anyone again that could be a life changer. Look at both statements and see how ridiculous they are. Here is how I see both words.  Always is invalid, as every time and every occasion, without exception, is not the same, and “Never” is a long time.

Sweep out the generalizations and learn to see that every time is a new adventure that happens all the time.
