Round & Round

Merry go-rounds do that very thing.  They just go round and round.  The nice thing about a merry go-round is they have an off switch, and you know the ride will be over shortly.

Events in life can be like a merry go-round.  We get the feeling we are going in circles and getting nowhere fast.  Although it is not always obvious at the time, there is also an internal off switch called change.  For change to happen, we must be aware we need it first.  Awareness comes in the form of feelings or spider senses as I call them.  You must listen to the feelings then do something about it.  Without some type of action, how can change occur?

If I hear someone continuing to complain about a situation, I ask the pointed question, “So, what are you going to do about it?” When I end up on the ride, I ask myself that same question and give myself three options: stay in it and do nothing but complain, stay in it under the premise of it being a learning opportunity, or change the situation by taking myself out of it.  All three options provide a choice.  The key to exercising the choice is first being aware.  If something feels off, it is off.  Listen to your spider senses.  They are there for a reason.  Choice is such a great thing.
