Life is Too Short to Eat Bad Cheese
“You have a clean slate every day you wake up. You have a chance every single morning to make that change and be the person you want to be. You just have to decide to do it. Decide today's the day. Say it; this is going to be my day.”
—Brendon Burchard
I was making a sandwich for lunch the other day and reached in the fridge for some cheese. I noticed when I opened the door that something did not smell right. When I opened the container, it stunk to high heaven. I looked at the label on the side, and the cheese was passed the expiration date by about three weeks. I looked at the other things in the fridge and freezer and found some other items that were expired and needed to be thrown out. I just assumed they were ok. And no I do not keep baking soda in there to absorb the smells. In fact, why would you want the smells absorbed? Wouldn’t you want to know if something is going south on you?
I think our lives are sometimes like the fridge. There are a number of things/people/events that are way past their expiration date, but we continue to have them in our fridge of life. I believe the expired things are there just because we are used to seeing them and assume they are fresh until we actually reach for them, open the lid and find out just how much they stink up our life. If you leave expired things in your fridge too long, it ultimately begins to stink to the point you do not even want to open the door. It’s just rotten and needs to go. No amount of baking soda will cover that up!
Action Item - When was the last time you looked at your fridge of life? Do you have some rotten things in there that need to go? Do you know why you are holding on to them? Take the time to clean them out and replace them with new, fresh, and better things.

There will be some new ideas coming soon. I went to the book store yesterday. I picked up Life’s Greatest Lessons – 20 Things That Matter by Hal Urban, and I snagged Verbal Judo – The Gentle Art of Persuasion by George Thompson & Jerry Jenkins.
On The Road Again
My Dad and Diane are taking a National Lampoon Vacation and taking two of the grand youngins down to Florida. Have fun chasin the kiddos.
