Thought of the Day 8/25/09

That’s Just Me

“All That I’m After Is a Lifetime of Laughter” – Chris Daughtry

I was visiting with some friends recently, and the subject of my pictures on Facebook came up. He said: ”you are smiling in every single picture just like you are now…even when you try to act serious, I can still see the smile…are you always smiling or are you just that happy?” That was one of the best compliments I’ve ever received. I just said “thank you…yes I’m that happy and smiling is indeed a choice…I just choose to smile.”

No matter what is happening in my life, I still find at least one thing, and typically many, each day to smile about. As I’ve mentioned before, smiling is the very first thing I do before I get out of bed. I’m smiling because I woke up, am breathing, and moving. I realize that I “get” to get out of bed rather than “have” to. I then say thank you to God, my Angels and the universe, and say a little prayer of thanks and for those in my life.

Life is full of disappointments and challenges, and life is also full of joy and happiness. Disappointments, challenges, joy and happiness just come with the territory, but I am 100% convinced there is something worth smiling about in every event. I am certain that if you sit down with me, I can find something for you to smile about no matter what is going on in your life. Sometimes you may have to look a little, but there is a smile worthy event in there somewhere. Call me if you need help finding it.

Action Item – SMILE! Who knows, you could be the next one getting the compliment: “you are smiling in every single picture just like you are now…even when you try to act serious, I can still see the smile…are you always smiling or are you just that happy?”

Another Opportunity
I found another place to save a few bucks. If you are like most of us these days, you can’t recall the last time you made a long distance call or even looked at the caller ID on the home phone. Well I looked my bill over and found I was getting charged $2.99 a month for discounted long distance of which I never use. I also looked at the custom calling features with caller ID and call waiting to the tune of $6.27 a month. The only people that even call me at home are telemarketers, and I do not talk to them. So with one phone call, I knocked $9.26 or 3.7 beers off my monthly bill. Every lil bit adds up to mo money in my pocket. Take a look at your bill.
