One of my favorite authors, Leon Legothetis, poses the very question regarding the life you are living. Is it your life or the one someone chose for you? Meaning, are you living the life you really desire and doing the things you want to do, or are you living a life dictated by society and what you were told to do while growing up? Are you chasing the money because society says that means you are successful? Are you a doctor because one of your parents are doctors? The questions can go on forever, but at some point, you will still come back to the question, are you living your life or the one chose for you?
I joke about my perfect gig being riding my Harley around the world, drinking beer, writing books, and getting paid to do it. Well, I’m not 100% there but I do ride around the country, I do drink beer, I do write books, and I do make a little mailbox money from it. I also spend time helping charities and others in hopes of making their lives a little better than the day before.
Am I 100% living my life the way it is in my head, probably not? However, I know I am real damn close, and it works for me. In my opinion, that is really what Leon is asking with his question. Are you living a fulfilling life on your terms, or are you just another piece in the big machine? Only you have the answer. Choose wisely.
