I read an article about determining if you are a pessimist, optimist, or
realist. I am not a big fan of labels,
but this article got my attention. The
pessimist is always looking at the gloom and doom, or the sky is falling side
of things. The optimist is looking at
the all is well all the time side of things. My definition of a realist is someone who is
adaptable and understands life happens. They
do not focus solely on the positive/negative but focus on the now.
Some people label me as hopeless optimist as I choose to
think and believe in a positive way. I
do spin things to the positive by choice, and I know better than to wear the
optimist/pessimist blinders and focus on one or the other. I know there will be days I am down or my life
runs off the tracks, but I also know there will be days where I am cruising
down the highway of life without a care in the world. I choose to believe things are positive and
good, but I also know how to accept the way things are each day. So, what am I: pessimist, optimist, or
realist? I like to think of myself as a
Realist with Optimistic Tendencies. How
about you?
