The Dierks Bentley song Every Mile a Memory is about places and events triggering thoughts about a girl. Heck, it would not be a country song if it didn’t have something in it about a girl. The song comes to me often when riding the Harley. I can be rolling down the same road I’ve ridden 100’s of times then see a building or smell something that triggers a memory. It can be a memory about who was with me, what was going through my head that day, or even about what I may have been running away from that day. The old biker saying pretty much sums it up, “It’s not the destination. It’s the ride.” Life is all about the ride. You can drive yourself crazy trying to plan it all down to the finite detail, or you can steer in a direction and see what happens. I prefer to see Every Mile as a Memory. How about you?
